G.O.A.T.-Crazy by Gnarls Barkley (2006)

before Cee-Lo was a TV character as well as after DJ Dangermouse got well-known for mixing Jay-Z as well as The Beatles, they were understood together as Gnarls Barkley.  They only created two albums, as well as only one was any type of good, however that album was extremely good.  Very, extremely good.  In addition to a great fierce Femmes cover as well as some quirky original tunes, it created the monster hit Crazy—which the Femmes in turn covered in 2008.

Between 2006-2008, crazy was as ubiquitous as Tears For Fears’ “Shout” was two decades earlier.  It came at the time that digital music was overtaking CDs—it was the very first ever tune to get to the top of the UK charts solely off mp3 sales, as well as it sat there for almost two months, as well as Rolling stone magazine named it the very best tune of the double-aught decade.  as well as it won a Grammy.

THE biggest OF ALL TUNES (G.O.A.T.) is a series of posts, creating my 100 preferred tunes of all time.  The master listing is here, as well as I update it about every two weeks or when I have one more 10 tunes or so.  When I do, this tune will be #22, best under “This Old Heart of Mine” as well as above “Come as well as get Your Love.”

Further listening: Gone dad Gone (Violent Femmes cover).

Covers: everybody has a version of this, including porn star Paris Hilton.  These are a few of the much more fascinating ones:
